Veldman Group is your partner when it comes to asbestos removal. Here too, our broad employability is of great use. It enables us to also apply new roofing and potential solar panels at the same time as removing the asbestos.
For solar panels, see our page sustainable energy.
Asbestos is a silicate mineral with a fiber structure that occurs in nature. Asbestos can be divided into two groups: serpentine and amphibole group. Chrysotile is also called white asbestos and belongs to the serpentine group. This is a curly fiber and is by far the most common. Amphibole consists of: amosite (brown asbestos), crocidolite (blue asbestos), tremolite (gray asbestos), actinolite (green asbestos) and anthophyllite (yellow asbestos). This is a needle-shaped fiber that often occurs in bundles.
Asbestos is organized in two structures: bonded and non-bonded asbestos. Bonded asbestos means that the fibers are strongly anchored in, for example, cement and give off few fibers. Non-bonded asbestos means that the fibers are hardly anchored in the binder. This ensures that the asbestos fibers can be released quickly. Asbestos cannot be seen with your naked eyes, this can only be determined by the laboratory.
There are several reasons why it is important to remove asbestos. First, asbestos is bad for your health. This is especially dangerous when fiber is released and inhaled. Research has shown that exposure to asbestos can cause to lung cancer, pleurisy and peritoneal cancer and dust lungs.
In addition, you can also be faced with unexpectedly high costs. If you have asbestos on your roof that is damaged, you may have less or unusable premises. You are then responsible for replacing your roof, but this may only be done by certified companies. This will cost you a lot of money and insurers will reimburse less or even nothing at all. Don’t wait too long and remove your asbestos quickly!
